Boulder (Colo.) current events scrapbook no. 3, 1927-1928.

These newspaper articles from the Boulder Daily Camera and the Boulder News-Herald feature the continuing controversies over the city's glacier-fed water supply, a new zoning ordinance, municipal services, paving of Mapleton Ave. and other city streets, planting trees, the activities of city officials, and many other issues and events of the period. These 21 folders contain archival photocopies of newspaper clippings from 1927-1928 which Ira M. DeLong collected in a scrapbook. They were copied to preserve and improve the accessibility of the information they contain. The articles cover most aspects of the municipal government and socio-economic affairs of Boulder, Colo., during those years. Note: another 21 folders of articles copied from this scrapbook for the two previous years are in BHS 349 b3 f21-41.

Dr. Ira M. DeLong was closely involved in the government of the city of Boulder, Colo. He was active in the establishment and operation of Boulder's city manager form of municipal government, which was somewhat of a novelty at the time.
